Faustcoven is a one man project that tries to capture some of the magic of the Old School Black Metal of the great bands Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Tormentor and Darkthrone. Combine this with old and doomy Metal like Black Sabbath, Pentagram and Candlemass, and you have a rough idea of what I try to achieve. Ugly and sometimes catchy riffs in a rocking way!

The influences from doom and older styles of Metal is evident in the production I aim for. I don't want a trebly, necro production but rather a bass heavy and raw sound. Most of the music is mid tempo, and lovers of blast-fests will have to look elsewhere. I also have a strong distaste for the goth influences currently invading Black Metal. There are clubs you can join where you get to live out your crossdressing fantasies, and karaoke pubs where you and your girlfriend can sing duets. Do not make a record with these features and call it Black Metal.

About the drums: The use of a drum machine is a necessity, due to me being a lousy drummer, and since I don't want anyone else involved in the project. I will always work to improve the sound, but for those who hate drum-machines; don't expect a lot of change.
